About Atlantis
My name is Melanie Kimball, my friends call me Melly. I acquired my first show dog in 1990 from a dear friend. Due to life's circumstances I had to step back for a few years and then re-entered with Doberman Pinschers and added Whippets. It became my passion and my joy.
This special soul, Phoebe (the white whippet in photo to the right) became my heart dog and that will never change, she was taken way too young through a tragic accident and lives on through her children; Bella, Desi, and Diva. She was my foundation bitch and will never be forgotten.
We believe in temperament, beauty and brains so all pups start in my office with me in attendance until they are ready for the family room. An x-pen with tunnels is set up and they receive lots of tender loving care. The puppies are socialized and stimulated.
To date, we have had the honor of 5 AKC champions and the sixth one, Glory, that we co-own with their owner in New York. It has been an adventure and I have met many extraordinary breeders and best of all my puppy owners.
Atlantis is in the southern part of Georgia with large fenced in areas for the whippets to run and for the Dobermans to attempt to keep up.
Then, there is Strawberry, a retired race track greyhound whom was saved by another dear friend and here she rules the roost.
We ask for references and are delighted to give them in return. My husband, Tom, and I welcome you to Atlantis. We breed movers and shakers, exotic and beautiful dogs and we are extremely proud of each and every dog here at Atlantis. We are happy to share that pride, and also our love for these animals, with you.
